How to love God

God is a spirit, he lives beyond the reach of the human mind and imagination but the scripture let us understand that the greatest, and the most important of the commandments is to love God. Matthew 22:34-38 Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducee, the Pharisees got together. 35 One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question: 36"Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" 37 Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.'
38This is the first and greatest commandment.
The word love means to have a strong feeling that a person’s happiness is very important to you and the way you show this feeling is through you behavior towards them.
The soul is the part of the human that consist of the mind, character, thoughts and feelings
The mind is the ability to think and reason.
The heart refers to someone’s character and attitude towards other people or someone’s deep feeling and believes.
In our pursuit to fulfill this commandment of loving God, we cannot do it by ourselves but by going back to him through the son. In wanting to do what God require of us, we must surrender ourselves to Christ wholly. John 6:28-29. 28 Then they asked him, "What must we
do to do the works God requires?" 29 Jesus answered, "The work of God is
this: to believe in the one he has sent.". For as to fulfill this great commandment Christ is to be our focus and our all in all, it is through him we can truly please the father. John 15:1- 10"I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. 2 He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. 3 You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. 4 Remain in me, and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. 5"I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. 6 If anyone does not remain in me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. 7 If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you. 8 This is to my Father's glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples. 9"As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now  remain in my love  10 If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father's commands and remain in his love..
A vine is a plant that grows up and Jesus said am the true vine and we who follow him are the branches and the father is the gardener that means that he is the source of life and light. In him we live, move and have our being, in him we find completeness and wholeness and without him our existence is meaningless, useless and hopeless. He makes available unto us strength, growth and productivity by the protection of the father. John 14:6-7      6 Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. 7 If you really knew me, you would know my Father as well. From now on, you do
know him and have seen him." He is our manual of life and when we are connected to him we  come under the umbrella of the father, so if you have the son and you walk according to his will you have the love of the father and you are therefore walking in love and therefore fulfilling the greatest commandment, and the knowledge of him is the knowledge of the father and the love of him is the love of the father but the issue is how to remain in his love.
Jesus said remain in me. If someone or something remains in a particular state or condition, they stay in that state and do not change. When you remain in him and his words remain in you he gives you that reproductive ability to produce the fruit of love, righteousness etc through the Holy Spirit. It is up to us if Christ will remain in us or we will remain in him. It is only through obedience we can remain in this love of Christ

                                                    Obedience

Obedience to the father has two faces, which are obedience through the word and obedience through the spirit. Our continuity of being in Christ is dependent on our obedience of his commandment. Obedience means to do what you are told to do.

Obedience through the word. It is  when we walk in the commandment of the son that is when we are truly walking in love. 1 John 2:3-6. 3 Everyone who has this hope in him purifies himself, just as he is pure. 4 Everyone who sins breaks the law; in fact, sin is lawlessness.
5 But you know that he appeared so that he might take away our sins. And in him is no sin.
6 No one who lives in him keeps on sinning. No one who continues to sin has either seen him or known him. 7 Dear children, do not let anyone lead you astray. He who does what is right is
righteous, just as he is righteous. 8 He who does what is sinful is of the evil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil's work, Knowing Christ and obeying him is not about studying the  scriptures only.Matthew 23:23 23"Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You give a tenth of your spices--mint, dill and cummin. But you have neglected the more important matters of the law-- justice, mercy and faithfulness. You should have practiced the latter, without neglecting the former. Jesus was talking about the teachers of the law and the Pharisees, this persons claim they knew the law but they do not obey it so Jesus calls them hypocrites. They never practice what they preached at a point Jesus referred to them as white washed tombs which  look's fine on the outside but full of bones and decaying corpses on the inside. We have to apply and live by what the scripture says. We need to pray for grace from above to continually walk in the written words of the father and we need to be determine to live by what ever they scriptures says no matter what the storms  in our life.

Obedience through the spirit. Our obedience to the God is not only living according to the written word but also living according to the leading's of the Holy Spirit. We must develop and maintain a strong and consistent relationship with the spirit through prayer, fasting and continual study of the scriptures. The father is a spirit and He always want to commune and fellowship with us through the spirit. We can only walk in the will and purpose of the father if we depend on the leading's of the spirit John 14:14-16. 14 You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it. 15"If you love me, you will obey what I command. 16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever--. All that Christ achieved on this earth was because of this obedience to the father through the leading's of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit knows the deep things of the father, his act and ways. We need the spirit to direct us each day that we may walk in the perfect will and purpose of the father. Our willingness to be directed by the spirit is crucial to our obedience’s to the father, our survival as Christian is dependent on Christ through the Holy Spirit because today’s word is a dangerous ground for believers. So therefore, do not grieve the Holy Spirit by whom you have been sealed unto the day of redemption. He is our teacher, he will teacher us all truth and bring to memory the teaching of Christ. We need to allow the spirit to dwell in us richly and establish in us the precepts of God. With our strength we can't obey the father therefore we need the direction of Christ through the Holy Spirit and  the father's will, would be made manifest in us.
Our hearts, mind and soul should be in agreement with the will of the father, our hearts must first be circumcised. God is looking for people whose hearts will be right with him and trust and believe in him with their all in all. They will trust him in all things and believe he is the rewarded of them that diligently seeks him. Our minds should do similar by focusing on him alone and be pure devoid of evil. Therefore your soul which is an embodiment of you character, mind and heart be made manifest in the natural. Let keep doing what Christ has commanded us through the word and the spirit.
In conclusion 1 john 5:33 This is love for God: to obey his commands. And his commands are not burdensome,.
