Destiny Killers:9 things that can kill your destiny

                                       Procrastination

If you procrastinate, you keep leaving things you should do until later or putting a thing until a future time. This cancer creates in your life a restrictive force towards action. Some people like to do something’s when they feel like. It's not everything in life you would have the desire to do, but things that are to be done should be done not based on feelings or desire. When you procrastinate.
You are denied opportunities.
It brings delays.
Your chance of success becomes slimmer.
You became foolish.
You would weep for opportunities but you would not have them.
Darkens your vision.
It will make you struggle in life.
Things you are to learn with ease you would learn with pain.
Procrastination gradually creates in your life insurmountable mountains. You could have gone to school this year, you could have attended that meeting, you could have launched that business idea off the pad but only for procrastination you are still in your old state. You are living behind time if you procrastinate.
Many have died still procrastinating, unable to reach their destiny till the grave called on them. Their vision and aspirations died with them, maybe they were destined to be the great men and women of their generation yet for procrastination they failed their generation and even failed to lay hold on the tail of their destiny. This attitude of procrastination drowns destiny, do not give up trying until your visions and ideas become a reality.

 Sin

It is the act of going against the will of God. Sin is one of the greatest enemies of your destiny. So in Genesis when God created man His original intention or His purpose that man was to live forever, he was to be in charge of everything that moved on the earth. He was the most preferred creation of God and were His representative on earth but when sin entered into man by eating the forbidden fruit (2:16-17) of which God had warned man against in (Ge 3:6) and (Ge3:16-23). So man became cursed, his domination and possession were taking from him, man became a mockery and creation turned against him. Man no longer operated in his full capacity. The original intention for man changed, his abode taking from him and was driving out. Since then man had to toil to eat, he returned to the dust. His whole life became a mess, his destiny changed from best to worse. So sin truncated his destiny and took from him his originality and introduced into him an inferior nature which is subject to pain, suffering, grief diseases and death. The bad and wicked things men do have an adverse effect on their destiny. Sin will create in you a different personality and drive you far from what God has designed you to be. The effect of sin is great; the payback time might cost you your life if Christ does not intervene. Your sins can be forgiving but nature will punish you. Watch your ways carefully so that your sins will not corrupt your destiny.

  Forces of darkness

These are evil spirits. Their mission on earth is to steal, kill and destroy. They are wicked and hate what is good (Luke 8:26) He was a mad man. Looking at the scripture it says for a long time the man had not worn cloth. If he had not worn cloth it meant he was naked and no person or human in his\her right sense will be without cloth. His sense of judgment had been taken from him
He wandered. If someone or something is a wanderer it means, that thing moves around aimlessly without any particular mission or reason, the man had no station he did not live in a home but instead hopping from one tomb to another
He was a living but died man. It only the died who are placed in tombs, not the living, he was dead spiritual but physical he looked living but for Jesus
He was a slave. He had no freedom, his will was seized from him everything that he did came from the demon within, he was taking captive both spiritual and physically till the day Jesus showed up.
He was inflicted with pain and suffering. The account of Mark says; he cries at night and cut's himself with stones. This means he had wounds on his body; he had no sleep and peace of mind.
He was lonely and lived in isolation. He lived far away from home separated from the living and the society had no regard for him. Nobody to call a friend or brother. He became an island.
His vision was cut short. He had no sense of direction
Inferring from what the man went through, it clear that when an evil spirit has a hand in one's life or an evil spirit is dominating one's life then.
The glory of the person is stolen. The glory of a person is his or her great beauty or impressive nature which is either physical or inherent.  The beauty is the state of having attractive qualities. Everybody in this life has some kind of beauty that draws people close to them. It could be the way they talk, walk, work, handle themselves, serve, physic.etc, these inherent qualities are what makes a person glorious or have an impressive nature. When a demon takes possession or obsesses one's life all those qualities in them that makes them look beautiful are taken off or diluted or covered or infuriated. That is why some have lost great opportunity (marriage, business or job) that could have made them great people in life. These qualities that makes a person attractive are invaded, he\she is projected negatively nothing about them is attractive. So when demons invade your life they change the course of your life by prolonging, cutting short, limiting or totally destroying your destiny.

 Passiveness

If a person is said to be passive, he or she does not take action or they just allow things to happen to them or they take things for granted or better still they do not attach any seriousness to life. Passive people are not serious, they take things for granted, they behave as if the is nothing at stake in this life. A look at (Ge 25:29-34)  Esau sold his birthright. Esau was an in serious man, his statement at verse 32 says it all (what good is the birthright to me). Esau implied that after all birthright will not bring him any benefit nor add value to his life. It clear that he does not critically examine things, these are types that do not consider or pay attention to life demanding issues. His mind was only preoccupied with being satisfied for a moment and for him that is of prime importance.
Esau despised his birthright. He had no respect for being the firstborn son of his father. To despise means to dislike. Esau did not like the idea of being the firth son. He found it unpleasant, unnecessary and unpromising. So he sold a pot of gold for an unsatisfying quest and it robbed him of his fluidity to his glorious destiny. He later wept for it but it was too late and he was cursed instead of being the blessed one. In life if you are the passive type you have no regard for anything, you don’t attach seriousness to life, you just allow things to happen to you, and you talk, do things anyhow, and do not take action when necessary. Please take a look at your life once again because the little things you disregard or despise are the very things that will cause setbacks in your life. So watch out don’t be unwise, attach a sense of importance to everything you do because everything we do in this life has a bearing on our destiny.

The company we keep

To a large extent, our lives are influenced by the outside world but not the inside and whatever we purpose to achieve is dependent on our innermost nature with inference from our outside word. In every stage of every human, they get to meet different kinds of people. These persons became friends or enemies depending on how the relationship was initiated. Those who became our friends could greatly impact us positively or negatively. For our enemies who are our greatest competitors, could either be a force to reckon with or a test of our capabilities. These two groups of people, the one which could be of great help or can bring distraction is our friends or people we walk with or interact with. The kind of people we interact with gradually shape our lives or change our sense of purpose, this impact is either negative or positive. If the company you keep impact values that do not conform to the set standards of your society then your destiny is gradually going to crush. Your kind of friends reflect who you are and justifies your behavioral nature.1kings 12:1-11. Rehoboam the king did not listen to the advice of the elders but took the advice of his peers and that brought a distraction on him. If you really want to have a glorious destiny than look at the people who influences your life. Be wise in your selection of the company you keep. Your destiny can be compromised if the company you are keeping is always influencing negatively, so be wise and not foolish in selecting your company.

Fear

Fear is the feeling that something horrible or unpleasant will happen or harm you. Fear is a force that can crush or keep the bearer captive. It also creates in your mind an illusive feeling of impossibilities. There is a story about the nation Israel and the Philistines (1samuel 17) these two armies where in battle, they were all prepared and ready to fight but one champion named Goliath who was a giant comes out from the Philistine’s and throws a challenge to the armies of Israel saying chose from among you a man to fight me and the loser becomes a subject to the winner. When the armies of Israel head this they became dismayed and terrified and any time this giant comes to press home his demand great fear fell on the Israelites. This happened for forty days until David came on the scene. In life, if you are fearful you will be in captivity. Fear keeps one in the prison of impossibilities and bounds you from unleashing that greatness in you or idea that could benefit the whole world, but you are thinking if it fails but you have never asked yourself what about if the idea became a success. Remove from your mind and heart those fears, it the barer between you and your success. Remember that every captive has a master and the captive lives according to the will of the master. So do not let fear take hold of your life. Job said the very things he feared most, happened to him. Fear in your life makes you pronounce negative things like failure, death, sickness, poverty into your life unconsciously, unknown to you these very negative things take root in your life and automatically become destructive to your destiny.
Fear is a limiting force. It set for you a barer, maybe what you are doing now would have become greater than what it is now but you are so afraid to take those steps that will land the growth. Fear creates in you an illusive imagination and presents to you facts which seems to be the reality. Even though that might be the case you should know that great men are those who defied reality and took the bull by the horn. You can lay hold on whatever you have been destined to have if only you overcome your fears. Be-careful fear is destructive, do well to overcome it.

   Mediocrity and timidity

Mediocrity is the thinking or the feeling of having an average quality and timidity is being shy, nervous and not being confident in oneself. The way you perceive or present yourself is the way people would respond to you. Sometimes we confuse timidity with humility, to be humble is to be temperate in character. Every timid person has a low self-image and their life is full of fear. They fear challenge because they feel they do not have the requisite skills or qualities on demand.(Judges6:11-15)In the v12 notice how the angel called Gideon "mighty warrior" but in v15 Gideon began to describe the way, he viewed himself "My clan is the weakest in Manasseh and am the least in my family. If you read from the preceding verses before the v11 you would have seen that Gideon was in hiding thrashing wheat when the angel appeared to him, which means that he was in fear. It never occurred to Gideon that he had been destined a warrior, what he knew about himself was his inabilities, weakness, and frustrations. He had an attitude of timidity and mediocrity "Who am I, who are my parents, what education or qualification do I have, am not beautiful or handsome "Do not undermine your abilities nor listen to the negative things people say about you for when you nurse them they will rob you off your glorious destiny. See yourself as how God sees you and proclaim to yourself what God says about you. Mediocrity and timidity will keep you marking time in life if divinity does not intervene. Do not allow anything to neither intimidate you in life nor look down on yourself. Never allow it

  Ignorance

Ignorance simply means not to have knowledge. It is dangerous to be ignorant in this life and it is far worse to pretend to know but yet you do not know. Ignorance is like a seal that blindfolds. In today’s world, the is no excuse for ignorance, the world is looking for men who are well informed and learned, people that know their left from their right and people who can give solutions to their problems and provide accurate answers to their questions. If you are ignorant about your abilities, purpose and the times then you are heading for big trouble. I once head a story about a farmer who went on a hunting expedition and came in contact with the egg of an eagle. He picked it and brought it home and added it to the eggs of his fowl. All the eggs hatched including that of the eagle. They all grew into maturity but what was surprising is the fact that the eagle behaved like the flows, the only difference was their physic. One day an old-time friend of the hunter came to visit, to his surprise he saw the eagle behaving like a fowl, he asked his friend how he managed to acquire such a bird and the hunter narrated the story but the story was not a border but how the eagle was behaving. So he took the bird to a fairly tall building and let it down it tried to move its wings but landed heavily, it wasn't able to fly, this was repeated for other similar heights yet the results were not impressive till the man took it to a very tall tree and let it down, sensing danger from that distance it started moving it wings lo and behold it started flying, turning and balancing in the air.
From the story, the eagle had no knowledge about itself due to its environment. The environment we find ourselves has a great impact on our development positively or negatively if we only allow it influence. Due to the environment, the eagle found itself it had no information about its capability and how glorious the outside looked like. It never occurred to it that it was destined to saw above the skies and hunts for snakes and other beasts till the day someone broke off that scale on its eyes and unwrapped the blanket that covered its mind. If you really want to overcome your ignorance and fulfill your destiny, ask questions, read books, move with people that will impact you positively. If the environment you find yourself is not helpful change it if otherwise, you think the situation will get better stay. Ignorance burns destiny, acquire knowledge and burn ignorance.

 Laziness

One great obstacle to fulfilling your destiny is the cancer called laziness. Laziness is the act of not wanting to or make any effort to do anything. Lazy people do not get far in life, it would be very surprising that someone without the drive or energy or ambitiously truncated and always engaged in passive activities would ever accomplish anything great in life. Lazy people think it a great way to live but this illusive thinking gradually became a hindrance to their life. In Proverb24:30-34. Laziness deprives a person of his sense of agency and motivation. Someone without the sense to act when the is a need to do so would automatically be lacking behind. It going to be very difficult for someone without personal motivation, low personal worth and the drive to do anything to have his or her destiny accomplished because someone without the drive to be active, how can that person learn anything new do something that will greatly have a significant impact on his or her life. Great achievers are those who make things happen and nothing great happens to those who have a passive approach to life. As riches and wealth are the rewards of the diligent so is poverty the benchmark of the lazy man. Great destinies are not built on the foundation of laziness nor did great and mighty ideas ever drop in the minds of sleepers, Stop living in or for tomorrow which never comes. Be wise, an hour lost can never be regained. Stop lazing around because your destiny is too great to waste.
