HOW TO CONNECT LAPTOP TO A PROJECTOR

Setting a projector up requires a bit of thinking and taking into consideration some few things like the environment in which the projection would be done. Whether it is your home, church or theater etc. Sometimes you may need a professionals to help. You might  choose to hung your projector from the ceiling or jest place it on a coffee table, your choice of placement should be dependent on the frequency of use

Screen placement

Any screen you place in your church, room or theater matters .In choosing a screen you should  be well accustomed with your environment. Your screen should be at least three feet off of the floor.

You may choose to install  4:3 screen or 16:9 screen but you need to factor in your room size logistics before picking a screen type. Whether you would like your screen to be movable or permanently placed is dependent on your environment and usage.

Projector Placement

At least have a rough idea of how large an image you want to project because that will affect the distance between your screen and projector. You would note that the further you position your projector from the screen the bigger the image. Find out the throw ratio of the projector, you can quickly multiply the screen width by the throw ration number to have the minimum distance. The throw ratio is the relationship between a projector’s distance from the screen and the width of the image.

Short throw lens projectors give off large image which is relative to the distance between the projector and the screen. Decide where to place the projector taking into account the room logistics whether to place it on a table or on the ceiling is dependent on its throw and usage

Connecting the Projector

You choice of connective logistics depend on usage and placement. Most projectors have a number of video ports, like DVI, VGA or USB etc. Some have network capabilities but it best  if it can be connected over a network. Most laptops come with one or two of these video ports.

Make sure your laptop is on.

Connect your video cable[VGA OR USB] into the video port of the projector.
Connect the other end of your video cables into your laptops video output port.
You laptop screen would automatically switch off and switch back on again in some few seconds. Some projector will automatically project whatever you are trying to project but some you would have to do some settings or press the ‘’accept’’ button either on the remote or on the projector  itself.

If you have done all the above and you do not have a projection  restart your laptop while you project is on. If this also does not work.

Go to start.

Click on control panel.

Type in the search box projector.

Click connect to a projector.

You can now select how you want your display to be.
