To turn off the computer, first click the Start button from the Home screen . At
the bottom of the menu, you will see the Shutdown computer option.
The number of options that appear when you choose Turn Off Computer will depend
on the type of computer you are using (either a laptop or a desktop), but the
options will have the same effect on both types of computer
Hibernate and Suspend
Hibernation and suspend options are usually available only
on laptops, although sometimes Suspend is also available on desktop computers.
Both are often used when you have to shut down the computer for a while but
keep the files and applications you open on the desktop.
.
When suspending the computer, it remains on and all
applications, open, but uses less power. This is a good option in case you want
to leave the computer for a relatively short period of time. If you are not
going to use the computer in a couple of hours or more, it is best to choose
the option Hibernate, because in this case the computer shuts off, but keeps in
memory the files and applications that were open at the time of hibernation.
So, the next time you turn on the computer all files and applications that were
open before hibernation will reappear.
Turn off and log off
If the computer is programmed to be used by multiple users,
two different options may appear in the Start menu: Log out and Shut down the
computer.
The difference between these options is important and is
that when you choose to Turn off the computer, you turn off the computer, while
with Log Off the machine stays on but the user account is disabled, so access
to any file and application is blocked. In case you choose to log out, the only
options you will have next will be to turn off the computer or enter the system
with your username and password.
